A Virtual Backup...

OK. I admit it. I rely on Google for just about everything I do online. What can I say? They hire great people and build excellent products. What would I do without my Gmail, Google calendar, Picasa web album and Google docs? The only thing that bothers me about this (privacy concerns aside) is that Google could accidentally suspend my access to all of these services without notice. And then what? Should I pick up the phone and politely ask that they reinstate my account? Good luck with that one.

The scenario above, while unlikely, is certainly not something I want to face. The kind folks at Google Operating System have a great post on disaster recovery and the Google services. Check it out.
