Wow. In a surprising move from Microsoft, we now have 10 reasons why Google Apps for the Enterprise cannot compete with Microsoft Office. It's still a little too early to call but this is for sure: Office applications.....any productivity application for that matter....delivered online can be a viable competitor to our beloved traditional desktop applications. Cloud computing is really all that the kids know these days. They use the myspace or the facebook and the gmail or the yahoo mail and the digg and the del.icio.us. They use these services because they are convenient. As online applications become more powerful do we really need these screaming desktop machines? On the flip side, are we really prepared to become slaves to our broadband provider of choice?
